In what ways does your media product use/develop/challenge forms &conventions of real media products

How I met/challenged conventions

Beyonce's Digipak Compared to mine

Calvin Harris' CD compared to mine

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

Qualitative Data

I came up with some questions that I asked my target audience, in order to produce some qualitative data....

1-What do you like the most about my digipak and magazine advert?
2-What do you think could be improved?
3-Which music genre do you think this artist covers? why?
(Questions referring to my ancillary texts)

1-What aspects do you like the most?
2- Is there anything that you think could be improved or changed?
3- Do you think my music video looks convincing? If so, how?

(Questions referring to my music video)

Here is the link to my prezi, where I have shown the audience feedback for my completed products.

From the audience feedback on my music video, I have learnt that....
  • My edits were really effective and grabbed the audiences attention
  • Even though not everyone (in my initial audience research) wanted lots of edits and effects, everyone said that they were effective and suited the genre of music of my song
  • This has shown me that if people are shown a product which they really like, they could change their initial opinion
  • Everybody said that my music video was convincing.  This was really pleasing as I worked extremely hard to ensure that it looked professional and suited my target audience.
  • After seeing the finished product, my feedback shows that not many people would change anything in my music video. Only one person would gave some constructive criticism and said how they would have liked to have seen more of the coloured edits.
  • Overall I was extremely happy with the feedback I received, the fact that people from my target audience wouldn't change anything  my music video shows how I have achieved my aim of appealing to a target audience specific to dance/pop genre of music.
From the audience feedback on my ancillary texts, I have learnt that....
  • The images I chose were very appropriate and of a high quality, enhancing the professionalism of my overall product.
  • The colouring of the images and the editing I used fitted the genre of music of my song
  • One thing which I found interesting was that someone liked the plain and simplistic font I chose to use on all of my products
  • whereas, another person thought this was something which could be improved and wanted to see a more bold font to make it stand out slightly more
  • Everyone guessed the right genre of music of the song-this shows how the products I created are fit for purpose,as by looking at them, my target audience knew which genre of music they were promoting.

Quantitative data
feedback

From this audience feedback I can see that my media texts were successful.

  • I received some very positive feedback, and this can be clearly seen in this quantitative data which I collected and put into pie charts
  • 100% of respondents liked the digipak, similarly all of the respondents likes the music video and magazine advert as well.
  • 95% of people said 'yes' the 3 products are clearly linked
  • Only 5% thought that they weren't.
  • I decided to ask if the respondents liked dance/pop music because if they did not then this may have helped me to understand if they did put more negative responses, however this was not the case.
  • 100% of the respondents thought that my media texts looked like real products.  I was vey happy with this result as I have worked extremely hard and done a lot of research to ensure that the professionalism came across in all of my media texts
